Fall NewsletterWelcome to my favorite season! My birthday just passed, and we are looking forward to a wonderful fall season both in the US and Europe. But first.. My New Website!https://lisetteoropesa.com Don't forget to display images in your favorite email reader and share this newsletter with your friends! We have some concerts lined up, both in Dallas and New York City, with some exquisite German repertoire: Brahms Requiem with the Dallas Symphony and Mendelssohn and Schubert with the New York Chamber Music Society. My first appearance with the Washington National Opera as Susanna was a blast, and I’ll be back there to sing one of my favorite roles, Marie in LA FILLE DU RÉGIMENT, with 5 performances in November, right after the election. Then it’s off to lovely Italia to sing Gilda with the Rome Opera. It is a huge privilege for me to be debuting this role in Italy, and I cannot wait to once again experience the magic that is Rome. |

ReviewsRegarding Ms. Oropesa, congratulations are in order for one of the brighter, better-informed renditions of Susanna we’ve had the privilege to hear. In many respects, “Figaro” is more Susanna’s opera than it is a starring vehicle for the title character, given the amount of beautiful and challenging music Mozart gives her to sing. Ms. Oropesa made this notable role her very own, deftly and intelligently adapting to every negative plot twist with a fine sense of theater and with a bright, sunny soprano that matched the positive attitude of Mr. McKinny’s Figaro. — Terry Ponick • Communities Digital News

“Oropesa performed the lovely solo, “Et incarnatus” with radiant beauty, and her stunning trills, leaps and embellishments were in perfect tandem with the winds of the CSO”“In the evening’s first half, Oropesa displayed impressive vocal flourishes and flexibility in the soprano showpiece, “Exsultate, jubilate.” — Janelle Gelfand • Cincinnati Enquirer

ReflectionsThis season always feels like a fresh start to me. Even though the calendar year is winding down, the opera season is just beginning, and all of the excitement of opening nights, the holidays, and the brisk air and fall colors is just infectious. There is a newfound warmth in my soul this time of year; to me the most inspiring time to be alive. I embrace the season in all its glory, and open my heart and voice to it all! |
