Greetings to all! The season continues to shine bright, and summer is well underway with a revisit to some of my all time favorite pieces. Mozart is on the horizon both this summer and in the 2014-15 season. I’m happy to be spending time with the roles of Konstanze and Susanna, both very strong ladies who bounce right off the page into life in these glorious operas. This summer I begin my preparation for new roles I’ll be singing in the fall. Most of my free time will be devoted to absorbing new music, and of course, some much needed vitamin D! I’m off to a great start already and looking forward to spending these long days with big smiles. |

Martin is a marathoner and vegan, like myself, and had attended the Brooklyn Marathon last year whenI sang the national anthem. He contacted me and said he was writing an e-book on running and veganisim and asked if I would contribute along with 14 other people (I didn't know who they were at the time). Of course I said yes and the rest is history. As it turns out, his publisher,Lantern Books, decided to publish the book! So please grab your copy and let me know what you think. |

The Artisan Traveler Interview | When my dear friend and gorgeous soprano Corinne Winters asked me to answer some questions for her blog about our lifestyle as singers seeking health, I was really touched. She is currently starring in an amazing BENVENUTO CELLINI at English National Opera and took the time to share this on her blog, The Artisan Traveler. Corinne is an artist and person I admire greatly, so sharing ideas about health with her was really my honor. |

 | My time in Amsterdam working on FALSTAFF this spring was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. I am always grateful that my career gives me the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful places in the world. When I think back on the wonderful places I’ve not only visited, but spent ample time in, I realize how life starts over a little bit each time you go to an engagement. You get a new set of circumstances, a new home, new faces...yet you have more experience in your own art and the expression of it. You’re a stranger who’s been there before. I love the feeling of that double existence, that familiarity bursting with the unknown. It’s one of the things that fuels a performer, I think. You are constantly being surprised, challenged, and reassured that you know exactly what you are doing. |
