“Figaro” is rooted in love: from raunchy seduction to moonlight serenades. Based on a scandalous and satiric play, it orbits the low-class Figaro and future wife Susanna staying ahead of their master Count Almaviva, who is neglecting his wife and chasing Susanna for a midnight tryst.

After I ran the Baton Rouge Beach Marathon, I was contacted by a George Morris, a writer for The Advocate. He thought it was interesting that an Opera singer ran a Marathon, so I happily told him about my journey to the finish! I talk a little bit about my weight loss during that time, and some of the things i've learned along the way.

With the marathon, the distance training has taught me that your attitude toward every step is what’s going to make that step successful or not successful and what’s going to make that mile successful or not successful. As we were running the race and getting to the hard, hard parts, it’s all in your head, completely. Your body has the fuel. If you’re not injured and you’re not about to die of thirst or heat exhaustion, you can do it. It’s all there. You just have to believe that you can do it.
