Hey everyone! I just had my 31st birthday and I'm starting to feel more than ever like time is flying. The summer started with Haydn, some Mozart and Verdi, and is back to Mozart for a bridge into the fall. All the while I've been preparing for my debut at the Los Angeles Opera in my first ever Spanish role. Throw in a little running and some delicious food, and you've got a pretty perfect summer. Now, onto the coolness and excitement of the fall! |

The Autumn Season Begins… • Sept. 8, 2014 “The standout, however, was Lisette Oropesa’s Gilda. The American soprano is a superb coloratura with ringing top notes. She displayed a strong sense of line which she used to convey all the sides of her character. Her evolution from an innocent young girl to a resolute woman was credible and moving. She brought the house down and deserved every second of it.” Antoine Leboyer • Seen and Heard International |
 | There are always blessings to count, and there are challenges to balance them out. It's easy to get caught up in the glamour and excitement of the traveling life, the new beautiful cities, the favorite role that once again you get to explore. Once in a while I get stunned back into reality when I step out onto the stage and realize that maybe there is some self doubt that has crept in. Or maybe things aren't what I expected and I have to make some serious adjustments, and that can be so scary. As I see the turning of the leaves, and feel the new chill in the air, I sense that change is the most natural of all things, and though we may fear it, it is probably our most constant companion. |
