About

Amid the Lammermuir Hills of Scotland, this tragic opera focuses on the love story between Lucia and Edgardo, whose families are engaged in a bitter rivalry.  Tragedy strikes when Lucia’s brother, Enrico, contrives a tale of Edgardo’s infidelity and convinces her to marry another. When Edgardo returns to claim his beloved, hearts are broken, blood is spilled and madness follows.
 
One of the most beloved bel canto operas and one of Donizetti’s most popular works, Lucia di Lammermoor features dazzling singing and heartfelt drama.
 
Lucia di Lammermoor will be presented in Italian with English surtitles projected above the stage.

Her voice strengthened act by act, but Oropesa had no problem with the singing even from the start, showing an easy trill and confidence through the part's range.
