I have a wonderful summer project with the Bayerische Staatsoper, Rameau’s opera LES INDES GALANTES, which promises to be a whole new experience for me and for Munich. We are singing, dancing, and trilling a whole lot in this lovely French baroque work. August brings us to stunning Lake Tahoe, where I’ll give two brief concerts of arias and Exultate Jubilate by Mozart. Then for my first engagement this fall, I am so excited to make my debut with the Washington National Opera as Susanna! |

Reflections The stage is a safe, scary, sacred space to me as an artist. But it is only that way because of real life off of the stage. I spent the last couple of weeks of May out west, hiking through Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and California. It was a life changing experience. I felt so very blessed to be alive in this beautiful world, and I felt so small compared to the vast earth and sky that seems to go on forever in that part of the country. Ever since my first experiences out west, in Arizona and New Mexico, I have made a vow to visit there as often as possible, because there is something about that land that absolutely restores my soul; it is safe, scary, and sacred.
