Lisette Oropesa as Elvira in Bellini I Puritani at the Metropolitan Opera

Lisette's acclaimed Metropolitan Opera portrayal of Elvira in Bellini's I Puritani comes to television this summer. The performance airs on Great Performances at the Met on PBS, premiering July 12, 2026.

The broadcast captures the Met's Live in HD telecast of this season's new production — the company's first new staging of I Puritani in nearly fifty years. Director Charles Edwards set Bellini's bel canto tragedy in the world of the English Civil War, where lovers are brought together by love and torn apart by war. Lisette stars as Elvira opposite tenor Lawrence Brownlee as Arturo, with Christian Van Horn as Elvira's sympathetic uncle Giorgio and Puerto Rican baritone Ricardo José Rivera as Riccardo, who stepped in for the telecast. Marco Armiliato conducts.
