In his last, his 40th music theater work, the greatest composer of his time, Gioachino Rossini, gave the world another opera hit: Guillaume Tell, based on Schiller, retells the legend of the Swiss freedom hero with the imposing and lavish means of French grand opéra. For almost 20 years, the masterpiece, which director David Pountney enriched with symbolic imagery, was no longer on the state opera repertoire, now it returns with a formidable cast of singers!
