About

A voice both crystalline and strikingly powerful, possessing dizzying coloratura and a flawless technique: from Milan to Vienna, and from New York to Rio, via Munich, Madrid or Tokyo, the American soprano of Cuban descent Lisette Oropesa is fought over by the greatest stages. With more than 45 roles in her repertoire, she virtuosically juggles repertories, dazzling as much with Donizetti, Verdi and Mozart as in French ‘grand opera’ (Marguerite de Valois in Les Huguenots or Mathilde in Guillaume Tell). Ten years after her debut at the Grand Théâtre de Genève – as an unforgettable ‘trapeze artist’ Gilda in Robert Carsen’s circus Rigoletto – she is finally back at Place de Neuve for one special concert. In the spotlight will be the French repertoire to which she is profoundly attached, as well as the bel canto art she has mastered to perfection and which so perfectly suits her agility and great musicality. Add to all this the generosity and luminosity of her stage presence, and we can be certain that Lisette Oropesa will bring us an evening rich in emotions and sparkle.
