Recital

This recital unites soprano Lisette Oropesa and pianist Alessandro Practicò in a richly curated journey through bel canto and Romantic opera. From Rossini’s refined lyricism and playful brilliance to Bellini’s long-breathed melodic lines—heard in a selection of Sei ariette and the radiant Son vergin vezzosa from I puritani—the program highlights the expressive beauty, emotional nuance, and vocal elegance that define the Italian tradition. Interwoven piano solos offer moments of contrast and reflection, showcasing the piano as both partner and storyteller.

The second half deepens the dramatic arc, moving through Donizetti’s charm, Meyerbeer’s sweeping French heroines, and the intimate Romantic songs of Mercadante, before culminating in Verdi’s impassioned scene from I masnadieri. Together, Oropesa and Practicò bring these works vividly to life, tracing a musical path shaped by tenderness, virtuosity, and dramatic fire—an evening of song that balances intimacy with theatrical power.
